1st Job Fair for Marriage Immigrants 2017

 
The Seoul Metropolitan City organized the 1st Job Fair for marriage immigrants 2017 at Seoul Citizens Hall on March 31 from 1 PM to 4 PM .
 
According to Na Gyeong Shin (the team head of Yeongdeungpo-gu Multicultural Family Support center), they have arranged on-the-spot interviews held by companies to help the marriage immigrants get a job. Those who are interested in or seeking job opportunities in Korea, this job fair could be useful.
                              
 On the occasion of this fair organized by Yeongdeungpo-gu Multicultural Family Support Center, 15 companies set up booths and directly recruited the applicants. 45 companies provided recruitment information on the spot and received online application. Most of the companies were seeking foreigners from streams translation, tour & travel, duty free and language related areas.  
                           
Furthermore, the Recruitment Information Support Center provided color analysis to discover personal matching colors and found our types of glasses for each face shape. Training on how to write a CV and services such as printing the passport-sized photographs, were also available.
 
Interpreters supported this fair, 10 for Chinese, Vietnam and Mongolian and one each for Russian, Thai, Japanese and Cambodin.
 
The Seoul Metropolitan City has organized the Job Fair for Immigrants every year since 2013. Particularly, from last year, the fair is held twice a year. For second half of this year, the Job fair for Immigrants will be held on September 2017.

Korea takes a step towards reverse discrimination and a proactive immigration policy

In a misguided attempt to help multiethnic families and their children and to bolster falling birthrates, the Korean government took another small but important step towards reverse ethnic discrimination both as a means to aid multiethnic children as well as encourage more multiethnic unions. According to reports, all "multicultural" children regardless of income will enjoy free daycare services from the government starting next year, the government announced Thursday. About 28,000 multicultural children are expected to benefit. Children between birth and age five will be eligible and under the program, parents will receive a state subsidy to enroll their multicultural child in daycare centers.
